History
The company was founded in August of 1995 in Orlando, Florida, as The Intel Group, Inc., later known as Hyperion Risk. In 1997, the company expanded throughout the Southeastern United States with the acquisition of Edgewood Investigations and Contax Investigations. In 2000, the company launched the GlobalTrak™ technology platform and expanded to a national investigations company, obtaining investigation agency licenses nationally in all required states. In 2006, Hyperion Risk was merged with Confidential Business Resources, forming GlobalOptions Fraud & SIU, a division of GlobalOptions Group, Inc.
From 2006–2008, the company acquired Facticon, Inc., York Investigative Services, and First Advantage Investigative Services. In January of 2009, the five-company integration was completed, allowing GlobalOptions to retain the best people and technology from each acquisition. In July of 2010, the Fraud and SIU division was taken private in a buyout from GlobalOptions Group, Inc.
GlobalOptionsis currently going on its third year as a privately held company. Since its founding in 1995, the company continues to experience positive growth, having entered the international market within the last year. With investigative coverage in six continents, GlobalOptions is now the largest privately held investigative organization in the world.
