GlobalOptions Services is a nationwide investigative firm servicing the insurance, government, and legal communities. We perform investigations on Workers’ Compensation, auto liability, general liability, and long and short term disability claims. We are currently seeking experienced surveillance investigators in the Chicago, IL area. Surveillance investigators must have experience performing stationary and mobile surveillance in a variety of environments, including rural, suburban and inner city areas. Applicant must be able to obtain clear and steady videotape within legal parameters. Applicant must be proficient in gathering information in a discreet and legal manner. Applicant must be able to relay all information gathered in a concise and detailed report. This is an hourly position with paid travel, mileage, and expenses. All candidates will be subject to a comprehensive background check. This is a full time position offering dental, vision, holiday pay, paid time off, matching 401K and tuition reimbursement benefit programs.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provides professional, expedient, and legal investigative services as requested by clients.
  2. Performs case reviews to determine case objectives.
  3. Conducts surveillance of both stationary and mobile subjects in a covert manner.
  4. Obtains professional, quality video and photographs which will meet the requirements of clients and guidelines of court evidence.
  5. Types concise and accurate reports depicting all aspects of the progression of an investigation.
  6. Maintains daily contact with management regarding case activity.
  7. Maintains professional attitude and appearance when representing the company to clients, court personnel, and others during work related interaction.


  • Must have a current Private Investigator License.
  • Must have at least one year previous surveillance experience.
  • B.A. preferred.
  • Must be able to write or dictate investigative reports.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and days.
  • Communicate with staff and clients in a professional manner.
  • Must have skills to work independently.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have current registration and insurance credentials.
